Karen Wood is a 1986 graduate of The Ohio State University in Allied Health Professions. She received a Master of Health Science degree, with a concentration in Orthopedic Physical therapy from the University of Indianapolis in 1992. Karen is also an Orthopedic Certified Specialist with over 30 years of experience treating a wide variety of orthopedic conditions. She has a special interest in arthritis, as well as joint replacement care. Karen has also participated in advanced training in hip care, including hip impingement, lateral hip pain, and post-surgical care including hip arthroscopy. Karen has significant experience in the treatment of the cervical spine, hypermobility syndromes, running analysis and fall prevention.
She is certified in dry needling, Graston® Technique, and blood flow restriction treatment. Karen brings empathy and insight to her practice, noting the interaction between physical and mental health and how it affects patient healing. She has presented on a national level about mental health awareness within healthcare organizations. Karen’s treatment philosophy strongly advocates for a partnership approach with her patients, and she notes: “Each day in the clinic is satisfying because I am constantly learning from each person I have the privilege of working with.” When she’s not helping patients at Body One, Karen spends time with her family, volunteers with her church, walks her 2 dogs, and enjoys Yoga and high intensity interval training.
